Tourist Review of Hotel Aster in Pattaya, Thailand
When we visited Thailand during the Songkran Season, we decided to jump right into the heart where the celebration of the said festival is the longest. Instead of the usual 3-day celebration in most parts of Thailand, the same festival is celebrated for almost a week in Pattaya.
During our entire stay in Pattaya, we were staying in Hotel Aster, and in this blog post, I'll talk more about our experience, and why this is a fair choice to stay in for your visit.

👣Proximity to Hot Destinations
Before we jump into the specifics of the hotel itself, let's just weigh in first the location where Aster is.
The Hotel Aster is conveniently located near many of Pattaya’s popular tourist spots. If you’re looking for some entertainment, the famous Walking Street is just a short walk away. The Central Festival Pattaya Beach Mall is also nearby, offering a wide range of shopping and dining options. Additionally, the hotel is close to the beach, making it easy to soak up the sun and enjoy the sand and surf. Most of these are about 10-15 minute-walk away from the hotel.

Upon reaching the mezzanine where the restaurant is, we were refreshed by the natural ambient reflected in the interior. The servers were very accommodating in welcoming us, and ushering us to our seats.
Shortly, the refreshments came in with a small serving of this sponge cake as a welcome gesture. While we were there, we just took in the vibrant energy of the room, and breathed in the wonderful view of greenery outside.
🛌Hotel Room and Features
The hotel offers a variety of room types to suit any budget. Whether you’re looking for a standard room or something a bit more luxurious, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at the Hotel Aster. Each room is equipped with all the necessary amenities to ensure you have a comfortable stay. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean and well-maintained.
For us, we just took the room with 2 twin-sized beds, and added an extra bed. For three nights, we spent around 8,500 BHT, which translates to roughly 2,800 BHT (P4,500) per night. Since there were 3 of us, we averaged only about 940 BHT per person per night which is just about P1,500 in local currency.
Given that there was an extra bed, there was still a considerable space to move around with. There is also a sofa just in case there will be a fourth person to join in.
The room has all the basic features including a TV, small round table and chair, bottled water, electric kettle and coffee/tea. Towels are provided, along with bath essentials such as shampoo and soap.
The bathroom was nice as it has a tub, and a separate shower area. The toilet has a bidet along with a sophisticated electronic toilet seat attachment that has multiple features. You can ditch the bidet, or of course you may use both, if you want to feel extra clean.

The hotel offers a range of amenities to make your stay even more enjoyable. There’s a swimming pool where you can cool off on a hot day, and just in case you don't want to hit the beach.
There's also the gym which can be accessed via the pool area. The equipment are very basic, but can fulfill your adrenaline needs.
As an extra feature, there is a sauna room inside the shower area of the pool. Hence, if you feel like the heat of the weather is not enough, you can further roast yourself inside the sauna.

🥐 Breakfast Buffet
One of the highlights of staying at the Hotel Aster is the breakfast buffet, which is normally inclusive of the published rate. The hotel offers a wide range of options to suit any taste. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, you’re sure to find something that hits the spot. The buffet includes a variety of fresh fruits, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, and more. You can also enjoy a variety of hot and cold drinks to accompany your meal.
One of my favorite sections was this coffee station which produces freshly ground coffee. This was a daily staple for us.
Everyday they rotate about 3-4 main dishes, but the constants are the salad station, the bread & toast section, fresh fruits and the waffles & omelet (which are going to be prepared on demand depending on your liking).
This is what I had during the first breakfast we had in the hotel - beans, omelet and sausages.
The following day, there was a congee selection, and of course, I did not miss the opportunity to taste that as well.

Overall, the Hotel Aster is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable, affordable and convenient stay in Pattaya. It’s close to many of the city’s top tourist destinations, and the hotel room and amenities are sure to match your expectations. Plus, the breakfast buffet is a great way to start your day off right.
